76ers spoil Kobe’s play & all the latest NBA Action

Lou Williams spoiled Kobe Bryant’s record night as he led the Philadelphia 76ers to a 95-90 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday.

Williams scored 14 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter and had the go-ahead three-pointer as the Sixers improved to 13-3 at home.

Bryant passed former team-mate Shaquille O’Neal to move into fifth in the NBA’s career scoring list with 24 of his 28 points coming in the first half.

The New York Nicks were without Admare Stoudemire and lost Carmelo Anthony early but still beat the Utah Jazz 99-88 as Jeremy Lin scored a career-high 28 and Steve Noval a season-best 19. Al Jefferson scored 22 points as the Jazz disappointed.

The Los Angeles Clippers beat the Orlando Magic 107-102 with Chris Paul scoring 29 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter and overtime. For the Magic Dwight Howard had 33 points and 14 rebounds, and Jason Richardson 20 points.

The Washington Wizards blew an 18-point lead in the third quarter but hung on to edge the Toronto Raptors 111-108 in overtime, John Wall scoring 31 points and Nick Young a season-high 29.

The Phoenix Suns were 99-90 winners against the Atlanta Hawks with Steve Nash scoring 24 points.

The Chicago Bulls eased to a comfortable 108-87 win agains the New Jersey Nets as Carlos Boozer scored 24 points.

DeMarcus Cousins had 28 points and 19 rebounds as the Sacramento Kings won 100-92 agains theNew Orleans Hornets.

The San Antonio Spurs were 89-84 victors over the Memphis Grizzlies, Tony Parker scoring 21 points, Tim Duncan adding 19 points and 17 rebounds.

The Denver Nuggets suffered a third straight loss as they went down 99-90 to the Houston Rockets, Luis Scola scoring 25 points.

The Oklahoma City Thunder were 111-107 winners against the Portland Trail Blazers.
