Adele backs Luke Friend to win X Factor
Adele has backed Luke Friend to win The X Factor this year.
The singer tweeted her support for the 17-year-old after his performance in last night’s sing-off.
After the show, Adele wrote: “Whoa Luke Friend was ridiculously good in that sing off on X factor! I want him to win! X”
Friend remained in the competition at the expense of Sam Callahan, who became the latest act to leave the ITV series.
He performed a rendition of U2’s ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’ in a bid to keep his place in Louis Walsh’s Boys category.
Friend received praise from all the judges following his sing-off performance, with Gary Barlow describing him as a “unique” and “brilliant” performer.
The X Factor continues next Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
