Ant McPartlin put in a headlock by hoodied thugs

Ant McPartlin was put in a headlock outside a pub by a gang of thugs in hoodies in an unprovoked attack.

Best known as one half of the Ant and Dec duo, the TV presenter had been hassled at the Old Station House gastropub in Chiswick, London, on Thursday.

The Sun reports that the gang had harassed the star as he tried to enjoy his meal with his mother Christine and an aunt, by banging on the window and using their phones to film the family.

When the Saturday Night Takeaway host went outside to ask them to stop, the yobs grabbed him by the head.

His mother Christine, 58, ran to help her son and was thrown to the pavement before the yobs ran away.

A witness told The Sun: “The youths were banging on the window, filming them and generally being a pain — and they just wouldn’t let it lie.

“Ant was completely reasonable and said, “Leave it out, lads, I’m just having a quiet meal.”

“But it immediately turned really nasty and one of them jumped on him and put him in a head-lock.”

The witness said that when Ant’s mother intervened, she was pushed over, which left the star feeling ‘furious and shaken.’

The star is reported to have called the police but by the time the officers came, the thugs had fled and no further action was taken.

A Scotland Yard spokesman told The Sun of the pub incident: “At 8.13pm on Thursday March 13 there were reports of an assault in Spencer Road, Chiswick.

“Police attended but no allegation was made and no one suffered any notable injuries.”
