BBL: Wolves V Tigers

Worcester Wolves picked up a comfortable victory as they beat Mersey Tigers 98-48 at home.

Alex Owumi poured in 19 points in less than 18 minutes of action to pace a Wolves squad that saw all 12 players in the squad score at least two points.

Wolves were determined to put the lowly Tigers to the sword early and they couldn’t have asked for a better start.

A 22-0 run put the home team well on top at 25-4 and they held a comfortable 30-8 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

There was no let up after the break as Wolves pushed their lead beyond 30 (41-10) on a Kalil Irving bucket.

Tigers couldn’t get the deficit below that mark as Wolves lead peaked at 55-19 before ending the half 57-23 to the good.

With Wolves in full control the third quarter was a more even affair. However, Wolves did push their lead beyond 40 by the time the match went into the final stanza (80-43).

And the punishment was completed in the fourth quarter as Tigers were restricted to just five points, which saw Worcester’s advantage balloon over 50 points.
