Blur didn’t know they cut off Adele speech at Brits

Blur’s Alex James has confessed that the band were unaware that Adele was interrupted for their Brit Awards performance.

The ‘Rolling In The Deep’ star’s acceptance speech for ‘Album of the Year’ at last month’s ceremony was cut short by host James Corden so Blur could perform the closing set.

However, James revealed that they didn’t know of the incident until after the show. He told BBC Breakfast: “That’s live telly. I don’t think it overshadowed anything.

“We were up there backstage and didn’t know what was happening until afterwards. I think Adele is amazing and has a fantastic career in front of her.”

James recently admitted that Blur will play a new song at their Hyde Park show on August 12 and described it as “a real tear-jerker”.
