Brad Pitt on Will Smith slapping reporter
Brad Pitt has joked about Will Smith slapping a reporter who kissed him on the lips.
Smith struck Ukrainian reporter Vitalii Sediuk at Moscow’s Men in Black 3 premiere last week when the journalist reached in to embrace Smith.
Smith defended his behaviour on The Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday by saying Sediuk crossed the line with his antics.
Killing Them Softly star Pitt was asked how he would have responded to a similar incident during a Cannes Film Festival news conference.
“I stay away from the entertainment gossip. I don’t want to slap anyone,” Pitt quipped. “Why would that happen? I would 
never want to hurt anyone.”
Ukrainian reporter Sediuk has apologised for attempting to kiss Smith, telling HipHollywood that he was simply overcome with “a splash of emotion”.
Men in Black 3 opens on Friday in US and UK cinemas.
