Bullet posted to Ferdinand

According to Sky Sports QPR defender Anton Ferdinand has received a bullet in the post ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup clash with Chelsea

The bullet is believed to have been sent to QPR in post addressed to Ferdinand ahead of the first meeting between Ferdinand andChelsea defender John Terry since the Blues skipper allegedly racially abused him during the Hoops’ win over Chelsea in October.

Terry, who denies the charge, is due to appear at West London Magistrates’ Court next week over the alleged racist slur towards Ferdinand.

Investigating

“We are investigating an allegation of malicious communication received today at QPR FC,” said the Metropolitan Police in a statement.

There has been much speculation over whether Ferdinand and Terry will shake hands before Saturday’s clash at Loftus Road.

Ferdinand is reportedly agonising over whether to shake Terry’s hand before Saturday’s match, amid fears it could be viewed as hypocritical.

Both clubs have called for calm before and during the game, while Andre Villas-Boas and Mark Hugheshave called for the focus to be on the match and not Ferdinand and Terry.
