Cheryl Cole records Lana Del Rey hit for new album

Cheryl Cole has reportedly recorded a song written by Lana Del Rey.

The former X Factor judge is believed to have dipped into the ‘Video Games’ singer’s wealth of unreleased material for her third studio album.

“Cheryl is a big fan of Lana and was intrigued to hear she had lots of songs written which she wasn’t going to sing herself,” a source told The Sun. “She got hold of one and was really taken with it.”

The track in question is described as an “urban, mid-tempo ballad” and has been tipped to be one of the first singles released from Cole’s LP.

“The record label are pretty happy about it because Lana has a massive following,” the insider added.

Cole confirmed last month that work on her upcoming album has finished and later tweeted the apparent lyrics to a new song.

The record is tipped to be released in the spring.
