Cheryl leaps to iTunes No.1 hours after release

Cheryl Cole’s new single has risen to the iTunes number one spot hours after its release.

‘Call My Name’ – the first track to be taken from her forthcoming album A Million Lights – has climbed straight to the summit after its midnight release (June 10).

Cole responded with surprise earlier today on Twitter, saying: “I CANT BELIEVE WHAT I AM SEEING.. How can Call My Name be no 1 on itunes and i only put it out at Midnight… (sic)”

She added: “You lot are UNBELIEVABLE.”

If the track enters at number one in the official singles chart next Sunday (June 17), she will match her previous record of lead tracks from her past two studio albums hitting the top, following ‘Fight For This Love’ and ‘Promise This’.

Cole performed alongside the likes of Jessie J and Justin Bieber at the Capital FM Summertime Ball yesterday (June 9).

A Million Lights is released on June 18.
