Christopher Maloney’s place on X Factor tour in doubt after snubbing final

Christopher Maloney may be dropped from the X Factor tour after his back stage behaviour meant he missed out on joining the other former contestants in Sunday’s final.
The controversial contestant, who finished third in the competition over the weekend, was apparently kicked out of the final group performance last night after turning up late for rehearsals.

He allegedly appeared to have been drinking alcohol and went on to verbally abuse production staff because he only had one line in the performance.

Several reports claim that he called fellow contestant Carolynne Poole a “c**t” and stormed out of the studio.

Producers confirmed he had chosen to go back to Liverpool, but he later turned up at the studio and pleaded to be included in the performance. His request was declined.

A source has since told Metro that producers are planning to meet this week to discuss Maloney’s place on the tour given the incidents that have supposedly taken place. No decision has yet been reached.

Maloney has denied the reports, insisting that he was absent from the final due to a sore throat. He said he is being bullied as part of a “witch hunt”, branding Poole “bitter” and saying she’d “do anything to get a headline”.

It was recently revealed that Maloney won the public vote for the first seven weeks of the X Factor live shows.
