Defender Callum Davidson returns to St Johnstone

St Johnstone FC today said they ‘are delighted to announce that defender Callum Davidson has returned to the club after penning a one year deal thisafternoon.’

Callum came ‘through the ranks’ at McDiarmid Park, breaking into the first team at thevery end of season 1995/1996 and he built on that during the followingcampaign.

In season 1997/1998, a club record fee of £1.75milliontook the Stirling-born player who turns 35 next month south of the border toBlackburn Rovers and he has spent the past thirteen seasons in England with hisstint at Ewood Park being followed by great service to Leicester City and mostrecently Preston North End from where he has just been released.

Consistent performances at Premiership level brought17 full caps for Scotlandduring the course of his time with Rovers and City and he added another coupleof caps more recently, in 2010.
