Denise Welch calls police after Twitter abuse

Denise Welch has called in the cops after an evil internet troll urged her to KILL herself.

The Loose Women star took action after receiving abusive messages on Twitter – becoming the latest celeb in a matter of weeks forced to make this drastic decision.

The barrage of hurt came after she revealed on live television on Monday that she had split from her husband of just over 23 years, Tim Healy.

One tweeter, identifying themselves as “Ally Money”, called her a “drunk sl**” and a “disgusting w**re pig”.

They also said: “Hope Denise slits her wrists.”

But the star, 53, bravely fired back at the coward: “My work have reported you to the police and they’ve traced you.”

She said later: “It’s a shame that just a few horrible and evil faceless tweeters write such vile things. I’m made of stern stuff so I will be fine.

“I don’t normally respond but I just felt they needed putting in their place.”

The ex-Corrie star yesterday told of how she has had trouble sleeping and has reportedly asked ITV bosses to give her a week off to cope with the recent events.
