Emeli Sandé to take six-month break after closing Brit Awards

Emeli Sandé has been accused of being over exposed lately but it would seem the Scottish singer has had enough and is planning to take a six-month break from performing.

According to The Sun, Emeli will “lay low” after closing tonight’s Brit Awards ceremony at London’s O2 Arena.

Sandé said: “I’m happy to leave the limelight for a bit and lay low after.

“I’m going to be in the studio working on my next album. I just want to make more music, as that’s my favourite thing.”

Sandé is nominated for ‘Best British Female’, ‘Best British Album’ and ‘Best Single’ at tonight’s event.

The singer-songwriter previously performed at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics, as well as BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year.

Muse will reportedly open the 2013 Brit Awards with ‘Supremacy’, along with a 75-piece orchestra, pyrotechnics and lasers.

Robbie Williams, One Direction, Ben Howard, Mumford & Sons, Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift will also perform during the evening.

Sandé, Adele and Mumford & Sons are among the bookmakers’ favourites to win awards tonight.
