Enrique denies Anna Kournikova marriage speculation

Enrique Iglesias has denied that he and long-time girlfriend Anna Kournikova married last year.

The ‘Don’t Turn Off The Lights’ singer sparked the wedding rumours when he introduced Kournikova as his wife at a Russian concert, but he has now clarified that they haven’t yet tied the knot.

“It was just meant to be sweet in the moment. I honestly didn’t mean to confuse people,” Iglesias told Parade. “I thought it’d be easier for the audience to understand than if I said ‘my girl’.”

Iglesias went on to insist that he is in no hurry to tie the knot with the Russian tennis player, who he first began dating over a decade ago.

“I’ve never really thought marriage would make a difference. Maybe it’s because I come from divorced parents, but I don’t think you love someone more because of a piece of paper,” the popstar explained.

“Nowadays, it’s not taboo to have kids and not be married. What makes a difference is that you’re a good parent, period.”
