Coolio has been arrested in Las Vegas and locked up in the same prison as his son.

The ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ rapper was detained in Clark County Detention Centre after police pulled him over for a routine traffic violation this morning (March 9), only to discover that he had two active bench warrants out for his arrest over similar incidents.

His son Grtis Ivey, who appeared on the reality show Coolio’s Rules under the name Artis, was sent to the same facility after being arrested last November for joining a prostitute in robbing the home of a former client.

According to TMZ, Ivey locked a tenant of the house in his bathroom and stole iPads, laptops and passports.

The pair were charged with first degree kidnapping, robbery with a deadly weapon and grand larceny. Ivey denied bringing a gun to the apartment, though the prostitute admitted to stealing some items.

Coolio’s bail has been set at $5,850 (£3,700), while Ivey is being held without bail and will face a judge on Monday (March 12).

Coolio appeared in the UK version of Celebrity Big Brother in 2009 – the same year as LaToya Jackson.
