Gerard Butler ‘feeling good’ following stint in rehab

Gerard Butler has said that he is feeling “good” following his stint in rehab.

The Machine Gun Preacher star recently checked into the Betty Ford Centre for a three-week programme to overcome a dependency on prescription drugs.

His spokesperson confirmed that he had completed the treatment programme on Friday (February 24), adding that Butler was in “good health”.

Butler made his first public appearances since rehab at Academy Awards events on Sunday (February 26) and spoke to reporters about his recovery.

“I probably shouldn’t talk about it to you, but I feel pretty good,” he told Page Six.

He added jokingly: “I don’t think I look too bad!”

The actor’s dependency on prescription medication apparently developed due to the physical demands of shooting 300 in 2006.

Butler reportedly chose to seek help when his medication use increased following a surfing accident on the Of Men and Mavericks set last year.
