Gossip announce details for upcoming fifth studio album

Gossip have announced details for their upcoming fifth studio album.

Perfect World will be the follow-up to 2009’s Music for Men, and will be released in May.

The band’s lead single from the LP – also called ‘Perfect World’ – received its first play on Zane Lowe’s show on Radio 1 tonight (March 12).

The album is produced by Mark Ronson and Xenomania’s Brian Higgins.

Speaking about working with Ronson, frontwoman Beth Ditto recently told NME: “One of our most common bonds was that we both loved big voices, church voices.

“He loves country music, which is a big deal to me because, you know, in terms of things I love, country music is probably number one, then it’s punk and hip-hop.”

Ditto said last year that British music fans are “fickle”, following their immediate success and ‘one hit wonder’ tag.
