iCrayon offered to fans of ‘Draw Something’ app

Fans of Draw Something will soon be able to use a new stylus device for more easily creating masterpieces in the popular Pictionary-style social game.

The iCrayon, the latest in a line of retro accessories produced by ThumbsUp!, is a chunky drawing stylus for the iPhone and iPad that looks just like a crayon.

Draw Something’s more than 50m players worldwide will be able to use the iCrayon for artistic creations in the game, instead of their finger. It can also be applied to other drawing programmes on the iPad and iPhone.

“Experiencing the growing obsession with Draw Something, we started to get competitive with our own limited artistic skills by using the iCrayon: for the most imaginative of sketches, sometimes the humble index finger just doesn’t cut it,” said Wojtek Kolan, the head of business development at Thumbs Up!

“The iCrayon offers users a bit of precision with their iPad or iPhone – great for ‘touch typing’ or any kind of drawing programme – while making them feel satisfyingly old-school.”

The iCrayon will be available in a choice of red, green or black for £7.99 from the end of April at selected UK retailers.

Last week, Draw Something – made by the now Zynga-owned OMGPOP – topped the paid and free app charts on both iPhone and iPad, beating the latest Angry Birds game.
