Join in on International Women’s Day!

Celebrate International Women’s Day in style on Thursday with skysports.com and Sky Sports News!

Throughout the day we’ll bring you stirring stories and insightful interviews that champion inspirational women in sport and honour their achievements.

It all kicks off at 6am with a special all-female presenter line-up on ‘Good Morning Sports Fans’ – on Sky Sports News HD, channel 405 – hosted by Alex Hammond and Charlie Webster.

Among their guests will be Olympic silver medallist Gail Emms and Sue Tibballs, chief executive officer of the Womens’ Sport and Fitness Foundation.

Alex and Charlie will then hot-foot it off the set at 10am and join us right here on skysports.com for a live web-chat in which you pose the questions.

Perhaps you want to tap into Alex’s vast horse-racing knowledge or find out how Charlie is coping as she prepares to make her debut as a stand-up comic to raise funds for Women’s Aid – a charity working to end domestic vicolence against women and children.

To find out more about Charlie’s challenge just click here .

You can send in your questions to Alex and Charlie now by Twitter. Just Tweet your question and make sure you include the hashtag #AskAlex or #AskCharlie

This is the sixth year that Sky Sports News has supported International Women’s Day – set up with the aim of ‘Connecting Girls, Inspiring Futures’.

No competition is off limits as we assess the state of women’s sport in the UK.

Former Olympic Champion Sally Gunnell – who completed a women-only Marathon in Ethiopia last year for IWD – joins us in the studio to discuss the big issues ahead of London 2012, and we’ll also catch up with several of our Sky Sports Scholars aiming to win gold at the Games including athletes Perri Shakes-Drayton and Nicola Sanders.

Sky Sports Living for Sport mentor Alex Danson will lift the lid on how Great Britain’s hockey plans are shaping up, plus we’ll take a closer look at grassroots sport with Dame Kelly Holmes, who is taking part in this year’s ‘Getting Us Girls Active Debate’.

From motorsport to football, bobsleigh to rowing, we’ll bring you the best stories around and catch up with the ladies leading the way in each.

Log onto skysports.com to find out more as the day develops and tune into Sky Sports News Radio, who have Hayley Turner – the most successful female jockey of all time – and Taekwondo World Champion Sarah Stevenson among their guests.

So don’t miss the celebration – make sure you tune in, log on and listen in with Sky Sports and mark International Women’s Day in style!
