Justin Bieber admits he’s a fan of The Wanted

You would think Justin Bieber would be sick of the sight of crowds of screaming girls.

But it seems the pop idol can appreciate the work of his contemporaries, as he has announced he is a fan of The Wanted.

The Baby favourite was blown away when he heard a gaggle of shrieking young ladies rushed onto the stage as they performed on The Tonight Show.

And while their boy band rivals One Direction may be celebrating a number one album on the Billboard 200, it may be The Wanted who are smiling more after gaining a crucial endorsement in the challenging US market.

Justin, who has had plenty of American hits of his own, tweeted: ‘Heard you fools killed it on Leno tonight. Gonna check it out. Well done mates!’

The Wanted are doing pretty well themselves in the charts, as they are currently riding high at number two with Glad You Came, which they performed on the show.

Jay struggled to have his voice heard over the shrieking female fans and as Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan gave a typically professional performance, they teased their supporters watching at home by taking turns to sing lines in front of the camera.

Just when it seemed it could not get any more exciting, Max invited their adoring fans on stage to join them in a mass sing-a-long, with each group member snatching the opportunity to hug the the girls.

The lads experienced their own small peace of Beatlemania when they were mobbed by waiting fans at LAX airport earlier that day, with Max George tweeting: “Great seeing all the fans at LAX. What a welcome that was!’

The boys are revelling in their success in the States chart, and have since released single Gold Forever as they bid to keep the momentum going.
