Lady GaGa launches Born This Way foundation

Lady GaGa has launched the ‘Born This Way’ foundation for victims of bullying.

The ‘Edge Of Glory’ singer was joined by her mother Cynthia Germanotta, president of the organisation, Oprah Winfrey and guru Deepak Chopra at a gala in Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre yesterday (February 29).

Speaking to a panel of over 1,100 students and faculty members, GaGa explained that the foundation was designed to “challenge meanness and cruelty by inspiring young people to create a support system in their respective communities”.

“If you have revolutionary potential, you must make the world a better place and use it,” she said, adding later: “When I say it takes very little to change the world, I really mean that.

“If each one of us just transformed one small bit of ourselves to be a bit kinder, more loving, more tolerant… I believe it will be quite easy to change the world.”

GaGa also announced that a ‘Born Brave Bus’, where fans can gather to talk about their issues, will travel to dates on her upcoming ‘Born This Way Ball’ world tour.
