Maxwell announces plans for US mini tour

Maxwell has announced plans for an upcoming mini tour of the US.

The ‘Pretty Wings’ singer will play six dates in July and August, and will perform all four of his albums in full.

He will take in three cities during the tour, using the first night in each city to perform 1996’s Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite and 1998’s Embrya.

The second night of each city will see him play 2001’s Now and 2009’s comeback album BLACKsummers’night.

Maxwell is expected to release his fifth LP BLACKsummer’night some time in 2012.

The musician is set to enter the UK top 40 for the first time since 1996 with his cover of Kate Bush’s ‘This Woman’s Work’, after it was covered in Britain’s Got Talent.

The tour dates are as follows:

  • Los Angeles, CA – Staples Centre (July 21)
  • Atlanta, GA – Phillips Arena (July 27)
  • Atlanta, GA – Phillips Arena (July 28)
  • Newark, NJ – Prudential Centre (August 3)
  • Newark, NJ – Prudential Centre (August 4)
