Michael McIntyre quits BGT

Michael McIntyre has quit as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent to go on tour.

An ITV spokesman said: “We wish him the best and look forward to working with him again.”

The 35-year-old stand-up is leaving almost a year after joining the show.

It now throws the judging panel into doubt for when the show returns in the new year.

‘Its been amazing’

David Hasselhoff’s role is also in doubt, although ITV say no decision’s been made about him and Amanda Holden is pregnant, which will limit her availability.

Simon Cowell said: “It’s been amazing working with Michael – I don’t need to wish him any luck with the tour because it’s already gigantic!”

McIntyre is lining up a series of live dates for next year which could have been affected if he’d committed to the 2012 series.
