Nadine Coyle reveals she tried to stop Girls Aloud split

Nadine Coyle has revealed that she tried to stop Girls Aloud from splitting up.

The Irish singer confessed that she wants to continue the girl group, who announced their permanent split via Twitter after the final date of their ‘Ten: The Greatest Hits’ UK tour.

“You should know by now I had no part in any of this split business. I couldn’t stop them,” Coyle tweeted. “I had the best time & want to keep going.”

Sarah Harding broke down in tears as Girls Aloud performed their last ever show at Liverpool’s Echo Arena and was immediately consoled by her band mates.

The pop act thanked fans “from the bottom of [their] hearts” in a statement on Twitter, adding that the “love and support will stay with [them] forever”.

Girls Aloud released five studio albums, two greatest hits compilations and 22 singles, 20 of which peaked inside the Top 10.
