NBA announce London date for next season

The NBA has confirmed regular season games will take place in London next season.

The O2 Arena will host the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks on January 15, 2015, after the Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves play in Mexico City on November 12.

“While London and Mexico City each have their own unique culture, they both have rich sports traditions and share a great passion for the NBA,” said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

“These regular-season games will bring the excitement and incredible competition of our league to more fans in Europe and Latin America.”

The news comes seven years after the NFL began exporting regular season games, which first took place at Wembley in London back in 2007.
