NBA: Nuggets stop Cavaliers winning streak

Cleveland Cavaliers’ winning run met a surprising end in Monday’s NBA action as they lost 106-97 to the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets went to Cleveland having lost seven of eight, while the Cavs were on a four-game winning streak.

But despite the best efforts of LeBron James, who top-scored for the home side with 22 points, it was a rejuvenated Denver who left with the win.

Five Nuggets players amde double figures, Ty Lawson scoring 24 points and Arron Afflalo adding 23.

Elsewhere¬†Mike Conley scored 19 points as the Memphis Grizzlies easily defeated the Houston Rockets 119-93 in a matchup of the teams with the NBA’s two best records – both 9-1 beforehand.

And Philadelphia’s awful start to the season continued as a 100-75 defeat to San Antonio made it 10 straight defeats.
