NBA stars Horford and Ibaka to headline 3X interactive fan event in UK

Oklahoma City Thunder's Serge Ibaka will headline the NBA 3X event in Manchester

The NBA’s global interactive fan experience 3X will return to the UK this month with with Atlanta’s Al Horford and Oklahoma’s Serge Ibaka set to take part.

Two-time NBA All-Star Horford will headline the 3-on-3 event in London, while Ibaka will take part at Manchester’s City Square.

NBA 3X combines a competitive 3-on-3 tournament with free interactive basketball activities, including the adidas Skills Challenge Court, the Foot Locker pop-a-shots, and the StubHub Knockout competition.

The NBA 3X experience also includes autograph sessions, music and live DJ’s, NBA merchandise giveaways, prizing and much more.

The 3-on-3 tournament comprises of teams of four players and is open for boys and girls of all skill levels in the following categories: Under 12, Under 14, Under 16, Under 18, and an 18+ open category.

Last week Al Horford’s Atlanta Hawks confirmed they will play a regular-season match against Brooklyn Nets at London’s O2 Arena on January 16, with Oklahoma City Thunder taking on the Philadelphia 76ers in a pre-season match in Manchester on October 8.

NBA Europe senior vice president Benjamin Morel said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming NBA 3X back to the UK for the second consecutive year. Fans and players alike can expect a truly authentic NBA experience and a unique opportunity to meet two of the league’s top players, ahead of an exciting schedule of NBA games in both cities.”

 

Events will be held in Ducketts Common, London over the weekend of July 13-14, and at Manchester’s City Square at the Etihad on July 19-20.
