Indiana Colts rookie quarterback Andrew Luck scored two touchdowns for his side as they saw off the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-10 on Thursday.

Luck was near unstoppable near the end zone as he went over from five yards for his first score, with two pump fakes creating the opening, while he then crossed from close range.

Luck, the No 1 overall draft pick, completed 18-of-26 passes for 227 yards, but also threw an interception and fumbled.

“In the locker room we have a lot of confidence in ourselves,” said Luck.

“We are preparing to win football games, we don’t prepare to lose them and it’s great to be where we are but we also realize while we’re on the right path it is nowhere near the end goal.”

Luck’s opposite number Blaine Gabbert was also intercepted too, though, with Darius Butler scampering in from 11 yards as the Colts moved to 6-3 for the season.

Gabbert did hit Cecil Shorts III for an 80-yard touchdown and completed 18-of-31 passes for 209 yards.

However he injured his shoulder in the final quarter to complete a miserable night for the Jaguars, who now slip to 1-8 after a run of six straight defeats.
