NFL: Tim Tebow looking forward to playing for the New England Patriots

Tim Tebow has revealed he’s looking forward to a new challenge after signing a two-year deal with the New England Patriots.

The 25-year-old quarterback has joined up with Bill Belichick at Foxborough as a free agent after being released by the New York Jets in April.

Tebow was drafted by Josh McDaniels, who is now Patriots offensive coordinator, at the Denver Broncos in 2010 and led them into the play-offs in his second season.

He has joined the Patriots after no other team wanted to take a chance on him due to his throwing mechanics but he will now have the chance to learn from one of the best alongside Tom Brady.

Tebow said: “I just want to thank the Patriots for giving me an opportunity, I’m very thankful.

“It’s such an honour to be a Patriot and play for coach Belichick and for coach McDaniels and learn under Tom and be a part of this great franchise and be part of a very successful franchise. I found that out first hand, lost to them several times!

“So it’s going to be a lot of fun.

“I’m looking forward to working hard every single day and getting a lot better and learning under some great people.”
