Olly Murs joins One Direction on US tour
Olly Murs has confirmed plans to support One Direction’s upcoming North American tour.
The singer will open for the boyband during their first headline North American tour, which starts in Fairfax, Virginia on May 24.
Due to his commitment to Soccer Aid in the UK on May 27, Murs will join the five-piece’s show as a special guest from May 29 when they play Toronto, Canada.
Murs also announced that his debut American single will be ‘Heart Skips A Beat’, which has been scheduled for release this summer through Columbia.
“I can confirm I am joining @onedirection on their US tour from 29th May as special guest,” he confirmed on Twitter. “Columbia US releasing HSAB in the summer!!”
However, it has not yet been announced whether Murs will return to present The Xtra Factor later this year, now that he will be travelling across the US.
His spokesperson previously stated: “Olly’s album is now starting to break big internationally and this means we have to juggle all his commitments between promoting his own album and also doing the show.”
Murs recently revealed that he will start work on his third studio album next month.
