One Direction add six dates to UK arena tour

One Direction have added more dates to their 2013 UK arena tour.

The group will release tickets for a further six gigs as part of the jaunt, which already included 34 dates across Britain and Ireland.

The six new dates include two extra at London’s O2 Arena on April 4 and 5 and a third at Newcastle’s Metro Arena on April 10.

They will then play an extra show at Sheffield Arena on April 14, Birmingham’s LG Arena on April 17 and Manchester Arena on April 19.

The added gigs mean One Direction will play a total of 40 arena shows across the UK and Ireland during the first half of 2013.

Tickets for the new dates go on sale from 9am on Saturday, March 10.

One Direction are currently touring North America with Big Time Rush. Canadian officials were recently forced to shut off streets in Toronto due to the band attracting large crowds at a television studio.
