One Direction to appear on Saturday Night Live
One Direction will perform on an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live, it has been announced.
The X Factor UK boyband will be the musical guest on April 7. Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara will host the show.
One Direction are currently touring the States and recently claimed the highest debut for a UK pop group on the US chart since the Spice Girls, reaching number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘What Makes You Beautiful’.
The band will release their first studio album Up All Night in the USA on March 13 after bringing forward the date due to popular demand.
They have also filmed a guest appearance on Nickelodeon sitcom iCarly and will perform at the 25th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards in LA later this month.
Harry Styles recently described their US fans as “unbelievable” and thanked them for their overwhelming support.
“To come over here and see that so many people know all the songs on an album that isn’t even out yet is unbelievable,” he said.
“Not many people get to do what we do in England, so for us to come over here and be able to perform to crowds like this is amazing and humbling.”
