P Diddy denies dissing American Idol role because of ex Jennifer Lopez

P Diddy has denied turning down the chance to be a judge on American Idol due to his ex girlfriend Jennifer Lopez also taking a seat at the judges table.

Recent reports suggested he turned down the role because he didn’t want to sit on the panel with Jennifer Lopez, and was also uncomfortable with being around Lopez’s manager Benny Medina, as they used to work together.

However, a spokesperson denied the claims, saying that it is “not true” Diddy declined the gig because of either Lopez or Medina.

Kanye West is also reported to have turned down an American Idol approach because he was worried about the effect on his image.

While Lopez’s return to the panel has not yet been officially confirmed, reports have suggested that an announcement will be made this week, with her new boyfriend, Casper Smart letting slip to E News that she had already signed up.

Keith Urban has already revealed that he will be back for the next season of American Idol, with rumours suggesting that producer Dr Luke will take the third seat.
