Suarez cleared by UEFA over alleged stamp on Zenit defender

Luis Suarez will not be investigated by UEFA for an alleged stamp on Zenit St  Petersburg’s Tom Hubocan during their Europa League clash last Thursday.
The Uruguayan forward was seen stepping on the back of the Zenit defender towards the end of the match at Anfield, however, referee Bjorn Kuipers decided not to punish Suarez for the incident.
Despite being able to use video evidence to review any possible misconduct UEFA have decided to take no further action.
UEFA said in a statement that its ‘disciplinary  unit has decided not to open a case’.
There were no complaints from Zenit’s officials  immediately after the game concerning the supposed stamp by Suarez, which may have convinced  UEFA that the matter should be put to bed.
