T in the Park 2014: The Human League added to lineup

The Human League have been added to this years T in the park lineup.

The trio – who are set to make an unexpected return to the charts this weekend – will make their debut at the Scottish festival on Saturday, July 12.

The group’s classic 1981 single ‘Don’t You Want Me’ has been propelled into the iTunes top five this week, thanks to social media campaigns from Aberdeen FC fans.

The band said of joining the event’s lineup: “The Human League are thrilled to be playing T in the Park this summer.

“It has been a long-held ambition of ours to play at this iconic festival and we were delighted to be asked to be part of such a diverse and exciting bill. See you all soon.”

T in the Park director Geoff Ellis added: “The Human League are a seminal group, with an incredible back catalogue of classic hits.

“Their hugely influential sound has paved the way for countless artists, including many which have played T in the Park over the years.

“I’m sure they’ll be a huge hit with the Balado crowd this summer. We can’t wait to see them play the festival for the first time.”

Headliners at this year’s festival include Biffy Clyro (July 11), Calvin Harris (July 12) and Arctic Monkeys (July 13).

Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Rudimental, Bombay Bicycle Club and Example will also play the three-day event this summer.
