The Wanted's Tom Parker

The Only Way Is Essex stars became embroiled in a massive Twitter row with The Wanted’s Tom Parker after he said they were famous for ‘doing nothing’.

Mario Falcone led the insults saying the 23-year-old was ‘the ugly one in the band’ and that he was just a backing singer for bandmate Max George.

Tom then labelled the Italian a ‘2nd class Mark Wright’.

The row began when Mario’s co-star Lydia Bright posted a photo of her and mother Debbie reading a joint interview they had done while sitting in bed.

In it, the pair spoke about Debbie fostering 250 children with troubled backgrounds, during her 17 years as a foster parent.

Lydia wrote: ‘Reading our mothers day special interview in celebs on sunday its FAB.’

Tom then said: ‘How ironic is that picture. Is that what you lot call yourselves these days for doing nothing!! #shocking.’

Mario launched into a tirade of abuse, starting with: ‘Is he the ugly one in the band? Working? u mean recording songs others have written?
‘The only one everyone has heard of us max… He just makes up the numbers the tool

‘@TomTheWanted keep hiding behind max… Your a backing singer!

The catalyst: The argument started when Lydia Bright posted this picture of her and her mother Debbie reading a joint interview about themselves

‘Also having an argument with a woman that is probably the same age as your mum?! She must be proud of you mate!

Outspoken: Tom decided to lambast the stars for being famous for 'doing nothing' following the photo

‘Yeah it must be loud at the back behind max and the speakers!

He added: ‘Face to face… You would piss your pants #fact

‘Hopefully soon!! Will let you get back to ‘work’… Have a good evening x.’

Tom said Mario was a ‘2nd class mark wright #thatisall’

He added: ‘Sorry, I can’t hear your comments from playing wembley stadium.

How dare you! Mario was not going to let Tom speak ill words about his co-stars

‘Oh almost forgot night @TomTheWanted bathing and getting 6 kids to bed with a bedtime story. Hope your mum had a lovely day. X’

Lydia also put her two pence worth in, with: ‘Quite upset to look on twitter & c @TomTheWanted putting me & my mum down Sad to see people constantly being bitter is there really any need.

And Mario’s girlfriend Lucky Mecklenburgh also took a swipe at the singer, writing: ‘They r lovely, Debbie an amazin foster carer,we r normal people makin the most of an opportunity.

Also putting in her two pence worth: Mario's girlfriend Lucy Mecklenburgh also chimed in

Lydia said: ‘I was a professional at changing nappies at about eight,’ she laughs. ‘But I didn’t mind. Little girls love playing mothers and babies and while everyone had dollies I had the real thing.’

‘I’ve always been a bit more appreciative. Whenever I’ve got a problem, I know there are people out there who’ve got it a hundred times worse. It puts things into perspective. So I feel like, yeah, it was a good thing.’

And Debbie added: ‘What was nice, was that this New Year’s Eve, the first four messages I got were from foster children I’d had when they were little. Now they’re 18 and 19.’
