The Voice UK Emmy J Mac and Ben Kelly hit out at show
Emmy J Mac and Ben Kelly have become the latest Voice UK contestants to comment critically on Twitter about the edits of their Battle Rounds.
The duo, who were knocked out of the BBC One talent show over the weekend, were disappointed in their portrayals and lack of air time during their contests with Ruth Ann St Luce and Aleks Josh.
Emmy, real name Emily McGregor, voiced her distaste for the producers’ presentation of her battle with Josh, which she said made her look “bitter”.
“Well done Aleks Josh, although it didn’t look like it. I was just disappointed,” she wrote.
“The Voice UK editors have made it seem as if I didn’t like or respect Aleks Josh, but that isn’t the case. TV editing can be very clever.
“Onwards and upwards. It’s time to show the world the person I really am as The Voice UK didn’t. A shame because I’m not bitter.”
Meanwhile, Ben Kelly was upset about the cut-down nature of his Blind Audition, which didn’t get the same length of coverage as the other singers.
“Where did the rest of my battle go? #HalfASong #BlinkAndYoullMissIt #TheVoiceUK,” wrote Kelly.
He then retweeted a comment from a fan, who wrote: “Disgraceful editing from @BBCTheVoiceUK. Unfair and completely unprofessional! BBC should be ashamed! @BenKellyMusic was robbed! #sad.”
