The Wanted make a dig at rivals One Direction during Radio One appearance

The boys were mobbed by fans in US

They’ve been frenemies since they both launched their careers in America and the drama between the UK’s two hottest boy bands looks to have re-ignited, with The Wanted taking a swipe at One Direction on the Chris Moyles Breakfast Show.

Appearing on the Radio One Breakfast Show yesterday, the Wanted received a bit of flack from host Chris Moyles who suggested that One Direction are the better-known of the two bands.

Quick to jump to the defense of his band, Tom Parker implied the X Fator band don’t ever move away from their signature sound, saying that at least their new single is something “a bit different.”

He said: “Our new single I Found You is a bit different. We like to mix it up. We try not to be stereotypical.”

Tom’s comments didn’t seem to sit too well with One Direction’s Harry Styles, who reportedly hit back with a spot of friendly banter on his Twitter page.

He wrote: “Chris Moyles’ is actually right though… If 1D aren’t in the picture, The Wanted would’ve been WAY more popular!”
