Coronation Street

Coronation Street’s Simon Barlow is rushed to hospital later this month as his latest act of rebellion ends in disaster.

The youngster’s behaviour continues to spiral out of control in the coming days, leading to a confrontation between him and headteacher Brian Packham.

Simon (Alexander Bain) runs out of school following the row, resulting in panic for Peter when he learns that his son has done a disappearing act. Peter (Chris Gascoyne) initially presumes that he’ll have gone to Leanne, but when she insists that she hasn’t seen him, they realise Simon is missing and are forced to call the police.

Unbeknown to Peter, Simon has actually returned to the flat, but he hides in the cupboard when his worried father comes home. As Peter heads back out to continue the search, Simon then comes out of his hiding place, where he has found a bottle of wine stashed by Carla (Alison King).

Still without news, Peter later returns to the flat and is horrified to find an unconscious Simon on the sofa with the open bottle of wine.

Simon is immediately taken to hospital, where a shocked Peter and Carla are forced to explain what has happened. When a guilty Carla then suggests that she should move out for Simon’s sake, will Peter be able to give her the reassurances she needs?
