TOWIE’s Arg stuns Lydia with his Essex makeover
The Only Way Is Essex came back with a bang last night as Arg left ex-girlfriend Lydia Bright gob smacked at his amazing transformation.
James ‘Arg’ Argent looked a shadow of his former self – losing a whopping 3 stone and giving himself an Essex makeover – all in the hopes of winning back his ex.
Unveiling his new look to Lydia and their fellow Only Way Is Essex co-stars in the first episode of the fifth series, she was clearly impressed.
Seeing each other for the first time in six weeks at his marathon fundraising party, Lydia took a moment to speak to Arg privately.
She told him: ‘You look so different… Your teeth look so different… I don’t want to be awkward when we go out.’
Explaining his reasoning behind his makeover, he said: ‘I know I’ve said I’ve done this for me… but really I have done it for you.
‘You said if you sort your life out and we’ll grow up.
‘I’ve started doing that now, I’m not the person I was a month and a half ago. I still love you. I still miss you. I know you still love me.
Clearly not on the same page as her ex, Lydia replied: ‘I still miss you and I still love you. I was so miserable and I’m so much happier.’
Arg then suggested they try and go on a date: ‘ I’ve grown up and done everything you want me to do. I’d love for us to go out to dinner.’
As Lydia explained she would prefer to be friends, Arg responded: ‘You and me can’t be friends. If we go out, we’ll end up in bed together. I’ve giving you the opportunity to go out with me…’
Lydia refused, saying: ‘I want you to move on. Shut up you arrogant a**ehole.’
Earlier in the episode, Lydia’s mother Debbie Douglas was stunned by Arg’s weight loss when he came round to drop off some flowers for her birthday.
She told him: ‘Oh my god James, look at you, there’s nothing of you… Where’s your love handles?
‘I’m really really proud of you. You look like you’ve lost 3st… your teeth. You’re looking good.’
Arg said he had ‘worked hard’ and was feeling ready for the London Marathon next week.
