Una Healy reveals her baby choke panic

The Saturdays star, Una Healy,  has spoken of the ‘worst moment’ of her life when her new baby, Aoife Belle, started choking shortly after her birth.

The singer, who gave birth to Aoife Belle Foden on March 13, with England rugby player Ben Foden, said the arrival has transformed her life.

But she told Hello! magazine: ‘I was screaming. It was the worst moment of my life.

‘There’s this precious little person who you would die for and you just can’t bear to think of anything happening to her.’

Her rugby fiancé said the couple panicked when their daughter, who has now recovered, started ‘forcefully’ choking before doctors took control and helped her.

He said: ‘We went into panic and pushed the emergency button and the next thing we knew, our baby was whisked away and there were alarm bells ringing and staff running around.’

The Irish star insists ‘there hasn’t been a dull moment’ since Aoife Belle was born.

She said: ‘What with the feeding and the changing and the visitors and the hours we spend just gazing at her, taking in every little expression, it’s never dull.

‘During the night, I’ll wake up, even when she’s sound asleep, and sneak a peek. She’ll be lying there, with her tiny hands up by her face – she’s so ladylike – and my heart could burst with love for her.’

Last week, Una stepped out for the first time with her daughter as she took a stroll in the sunshine near her home in Bedfordshire, outside London.
