Uptown Funk takes 2015 title

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’s ‘Uptown Funk’ was officially the biggest selling single of 2015.

The catchy tune, with ​a combined sales and streaming total of 1.76 million​, spent a total of seven weeks at No.1 in the UK, while staying in the Top 40 from January until October.

The single, that was originally made popular after X Factor’s Fleur East sang it on the show, fast became the biggest dance hit of the year, with OMI’s summer smash ‘Cheerleader’ trailing just behind with a combined sales total of 1.52 million​.

Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church’ finished third on the end of year chart with combined sales of ​1.25 million​, while Ellie Goulding’s Fifty Shades of Grey single ‘Love Me Like You Do’ is fourth with ​1.19 million combined sales​.
