World Cup: Scotland’s match with Serbia at risk after heavy snow

Tonight’s World Cup qualifier between Serbia and Scotland is in doubt after heavy snow fall in Novi Sad.

A meeting between the respective associations was held on Tuesday and it was decided to organise a snow-clearing operation at the Karadjordje Stadium, so that the match can go ahead.

And the Scottish FA tweeted on Tuesday morning: “Serbia v Scotland on as it stands, Serbian FA clearing pitch of snow. We will provide updates if the situation changes.”

If the weather worsens and the match has to be postponed, it can be rescheduled for Wednesday, and FIFA rules state that the match could even be played on Thursday if the associations agree.
