X Factor: District3 lose the battle of the boybands

X Factor boyband district 3

District3 became the latest act to be eliminated from the X Factor after landing in the bottom two with fellow group Union J.

District3 performed a rendition of Bruno Mars’s ‘Just The Way You Are’, while Union J sang Adele’s ‘Set Fire to the Rain’, however it was Union J who won the battle of the boybands after mentor Louis Walsh refused to vote.

Walsh was the first judge to be asked for his vote but refused to choose between his acts. Gary Barlow expressed his surprise at District3’s “worst vocal performance to date” and chose to send them home. Nicole Scherzinger also chose to send home the trio, meaning that they would be the act to leave the show.

Tulisa then revealed that if her vote had counted she would have saved District3, as she has felt closer to them as a group from the start of the competition.

On The Xtra Factor, District3 admitted that whilst they are “absolutely gutted” to be leaving the show, they have had a “wicked time”. They also wished Union J good luck in the rest of the series.

Greg West added: “We wish the boys all the luck in the world.”

The X Factor continues next Saturday (November 17) at 8pm.
