Noel Gallagher admits he’s not above reality TV

Noel Gallagher has said that he does not think he is above reality TV.

The ex-Oasis songwriter claimed to have turned down an offer to replace Simon Cowell on The X Factor before Gary Barlow took the job. He later said that he would only do it for £1 million.

Speaking with James Merritt on BRMB, Gallagher said that he would not reconsider his rejectiondespite pressure from his daughter.

“It’s not what I want to do,” the guitarist said. “I don’t want to be on f**king television. I don’t like being on television when I’m playing live. I don’t even like being on Jools Holland or any of them programmes.

“I don’t like it. It’s not for me. So being on TV every week – although it would be undoubtedly brilliant for you to watch it – it would be a waste of my time.”

Gallagher added: “Not that I think I’m above it. That’s not the kind of thing I want to get involved in. I’m into music.”

Quizzed on whether he would consider a role on The Voice UK, Gallagher said: “I’m not intersted in anything.

“The only thing I would consider doing for the BBC is if Russell Brand decides to move back to England and we relaunch the radio show.

“I f**king loved doing that radio show. But other than that, no, I’m too busy being brilliant. It takes up a lot of my time.”

During the same interview, Gallagher said that he is “not arsed about world peace”, suggesting that “a bit of war is good” as it “sorts men out from the boys”.
