Day 1 Round Up at Commonwealth Games

Day one at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games kicked off with the first gold medal going to England’s Jodie Stimpson, as she triumphed in the women’s triathlon, with Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee following in the mens.

Sir Bradley Wiggins had to settle for silver in the men’s 4000m team pursuit, while Scotland’s Ross Murdoch became the biggest shock of the day when he beat  Michael Jamieson in the mens 200m breaststroke final.
